Tidying Up - New Website
Tidying Up - New Website
I am so excited to share my new website with you! What I set out to do everyday is tell the story of people who strive to live the best life possible. It is my mission to support and promote businesses that work to enrich and improve people's lives. I hope it gets you excited about eating, drinking, and living well.
Some notes on the new website:
I edited thousands of images for this redesign and it almost felt like I was on the show, “Tidying Up”. It's as if Marie Kondo was giving me some advice, "Spread all of your images out and ask does this photo bring me joy? If it doesn’t, then get rid of it." Well, it wasn't that easy, but the result is a refreshing and new website I am very happy with.
I wanted a mix between allowing visitors to be able to scroll through quickly, yet I wanted the images to be big to give maximum impact for a first impression. For me it has always been quality over quantity. You will hear me say those words all the time.
Some background on how to navigate the site:
Commissions - I feature a dozen client projects and give a little tidbit about the shoot. I like to think of it as a Case Study. In some cases at the end of each gallery I share some examples of how the images were used.
You will also see my images grouped in different galleries by subject:
Food - Photography of finished dishes of food for both commercial brands and restaurants.
Fresh - Takes things a bit further and highlights food either being harvested or in its prep stages. You will see images of all the ingredients to be put in a particular dish, vegetables being chopped, or dough being prepped.
Food Lovers - Showcases my ability to take food to the next level by photographing the people who produce, make, and enjoy the food. This is the area where I differ from other food photographers in the sense that I photograph food and the lifestyle around food.
Beverages - A variety of beverages ranging from coffee, water, green and fermented drinks, wine, cocktails, beer, and the people who make them. A lot of action happening in this gallery as well.
Lifestyle - Mostly commercial shoots of people doing non-food related activities or posing for portraits.
Motion - Examples of videos I have worked on as well as cinemagraph and gif.
PDF Builder - A great resource for anyone who is building the case to hire me. Go into the builder and select the images you best think represent the most focused edit so you can show my work to whomever is making the hiring decision. Or use it for inspiration for our shoot. I often ask my clients what images they liked best when browsing through my site. We often use those images as inspiration for our shot list.
INFO - There are four links in the submenu:
Behind the Scenes - Probably the funnest link...you will see images from a number of productions I have worked on. You will see me serious in some and having fun in others. Isn't that what it's all about?
Contact - How to reach me and my agent. Also, a form for subscribing to regular email updates.
About - My Bio and how to connect with me on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
Clients - Clients ranging from commercial to editorial, big brands, wineries, restaurants, and agencies.
Thanks to Steve, Marc, Rowan, Pedro and Jackie, Annie, and Freda for helping me get this website off the ground!
